Take a Stand, Keep Our Water in Our Hands.

Water is the lifeblood of our community, fueling our homes, businesses, schools, and quality of life. Like other Southwestern communities, Brazos and Robertson counties face ongoing challenges: drought, seasonal high temperatures, aging infrastructure, and shrinking groundwater reserves. Now, out-of-state entities and neighboring municipalities in the Brazos River Valley are collaborating to siphon away our city’s most precious resource—our water.

That’s why Keep Water Local was created—a coalition of residents, business leaders, and students from our local schools and colleges, united to protect our water and our way of life.

Why Keep Water Local?

Water isn’t just a resource; it’s our lifeline. From local businesses and agriculture to our homes and schools, water provides prosperity, health, and our future. With neighboring areas targeting our water supplies, our community faces risks that could directly affect our daily living and our long-term growth.

Together, we can make our voices heard and ensure that our water stays here, supporting our community, our families, and our future. Your voice matters and helps us stand together to preserve our precious water resources.
